長文②Silent Spring: My name is Aki. Dou you know Silent Spring written by Rachel Carson?She wrote about the danger of farm chemicalsin the 20th cantury. Many students have heard about this book inEnglish class. After I heard about it, I becameinterested in environmental problems, and I thought about my family'sdaily habits. I often went to a store near myhouse with my parents. We always went there by car. At the store, wewere asked, "How many chopsticks do you need?" I always answered, "There,." And we were asked, "Do you need plasticbags?" Mother always answered, "Yes, please." At home I asked mother, "Why do you have a lot of plastic bags in thekitchen?" She answered, "They'll be useful someday." I told her about Rachel Carson and the environmentalproblem. She listened to me quietly. After a while,she said to Father and me, "Let's do something for the Earth." Now weusually go to the store by bike. We always bring our ownbags. We don't ask the cashier to give usu chopstick or plastic bags.Thanks to Rachel, we started to change our lives, but I still have a questin about chopsticks. Some people say that wedon't damage the forests because we use remnants of wood to make chopsticks. Is that true? I asked Father about it. Hesaid "I have no idea, but I've heard this. Many people have syarted carrying their own chopsticks." "Silent spring" means " a spring without life, "Rachel Carson said. Ilike spring very much. I enjoy beautiful green keaves and the songs of birds. I can feel life. I can feel nature. Weshould try to protect our nature. We don't have to do big things. Let's find something we can do. If each of usmakes small changes, we can save the Earth.If we can save the Earth, it will be a better place for our children.Let's start now.

Thomas Jefferson thought back to his childhood days in the green Virginia countryside.How different his life had been,when,as a boy,he was living at the very edge of the wilderness. In his wildest childhood dreams,had he ever imagined that events would lead him to such a momentous time? The next morning Thomas prepared to work. He set up his specially-made writing. He always carried this with him. It looked like a book when it was shut,but the top opened up and became a desk top. Inside was a drawer for pens,ink,and sand. The pens were made of goose feathers. People wrote by dipping the tips into the ink. Since the ink took a long time to dry,they had to put sand on the page when they had finished so that the sand would absorb the extra ink. Thomas liked to write standing up. He said he could think better that way. So he stood up at the little desk,arranged the pens and ink and put the little box of sand beside him. Then he took a sheet of paper and smoothed it out on the desk. He felt good this morning. He knew what he wanted to write and he felt that he could do it. He thought back to the stories his father used to tell about his adventures exploring the wilderness. He was having an adventure of his own now. In fact,the whole country was. He dipped his pen into the ink and began to write. Some time later he stopped and read what he had written,then took some sand from the box and put it on the sheet. He let it stand for a moment,then blew it off. So far,so good. He liked it. The Declaration should be strong,but it also should be moving and beautiful. The language should inspire people. Thomas wanted it to be more than just an official document that would be filed in a book and forgotten.

現在高2の東京農業大学(応用生物科学部栄養科学科管理栄養士専攻)を目指して勉強しているものです｡
受験科目は生物ⅠⅡ、英語、国語です｡
質問をいつくかさせて頂きます｡
１、私は総合学科の高校に通っていて時間割がうまく組み合わされず生物Ⅱをとることができなくなってしまっています｡
独学で生物Ⅱを勉強したいのですがオススメの参考書や問題集を教えていただきたいです｡
２、英語のオラコンとはなんでしょうか?
初めて聞いたので分からず不安になっています｡
３、英語の勉強なのですが最近始めたばかりなのでわかりませんが学校でもらった『Harvest English Grammar Green Course Training Book』『Spring board to English―基礎から学ぶ「長文＋文法」１５題―』『スプリーム英語構文109 英語解釈 演習ワーク』という市販では売られていない基礎的な問題集を貰いました｡
単語帳は『FORMULA 1700』で勉強しています｡
勉強をどれくらいやればいいのかわからないのでとりあえず全て１周出来るようにしようと思うのですがどう思いますか?
